Idea: DIY Packaging

When trying to sell / promote yourself and your work you need a lot of little things.  Business cards are a must as well as non-stop advertising (which I'm not very good at).  Let's say you are able to sell some of your work.  Have you thought about packaging?  Sure, you could toss your products into a box or bag.  But what does that say about you?

Unfortunately, whatever clever packaging scheme you come up with will inevitably end up in the recycle bin (I hope you recycle).  I wanted to make something cute for all of the hair clips that I've been making, even though I know that my customers aren't going to keep my cards and packaging forever.  I have always received compliments on my handwriting and artwork, so I thought it would be great to create each card myself.  This way my customers get their own personalized packaging along with their unique item.

For my packaging:

*small plastic bags (craft store; I found mine at Hobby Lobby)
     *unruled index cards
     *markers
     *scissors
     *hole-punch
