Feature: Ella's Deli

Today, we're going back to Madison, Wisconsin to visit Ella's Deli and Ice Cream Parlor!

The first thing that catches your eye about Ella's is the beautiful outdoor carousel.  It was built in 1927 and is one of the few remaining original carousels.  Children and adults can enjoy it from spring to fall.

More amazing things await inside.  The walls, ceiling, and tables are all decorated with art and animated displays created by Madison artists (some even by the owners and employees).  A personal favorite is the Sgt. Pepper's diorama... and possibly the giant banana.  :)

Food?  Great!  I'm super picky and a vegetarian (I often refer to myself as a breadatarian), and I was able to find several things to eat.  Ella's started out as a small kosher deli and grocery store in the 1960s and still serves kosher foods.  The menu offers everything from corned beef to phosphates.  No Coke products, though.  :(

Go to http://www.ellas-deli.com/ to learn more about the history and check out the food and dessert menus.  Too much to choose from!
