Things I Love: Trains

I have a lot of love and respect for trains.  My father is a retired railroader.  I absolutely love train rides, and my father always referred to me as his 'caboose' (I'm the youngest of three).  We always had a train set (or two) running around our Christmas tree.  Our family was always on the lookout for anything Milwaukee Road, Soo Line, and eventually Canadian Pacific (three names, one railroad line).

The life of a railroader and his or her family is not for everyone.  It's long hours, phone calls in the wee hours, strange terminology, and many days apart from one another.  It became normal to us.  I don't think I'd have it any other way. 

If I see a train or railroad tracks, I have to get a photo of it.  Here's a few that I've captured:
