The quest when visiting Richmond, Indiana was the double decker bus inside of Clara's Pizza King. Nothing else. Well... I also wanted a photo of an old sign which was located downtown. Before finding the sign, we were greeted by numerous murals which taught us about Richmond's musical past.
Richmond was the home of Gennett Records, which was known for early jazz recordings. Many talented jazz and blues musicians recorded under the label. Unfortunately, the Great Depression hit the company pretty hard. In 1997, a local artist named Pam Bliss Ferguson began to paint murals to celebrate Richmond's rich jazz heritage. The murals are incredible.
