I nearly fell over when I stepped inside of Zaharakos. Actually, I told Kevin that I could die right then and there. For a roadside oddity/vintage lover, this place is a dream come true.
This sweet little ice cream parlor is situated in downtown Columbus, Indiana (about an hour away from our home). Most people were enjoying shakes and sundaes while we were there. I was excited to find a grilled cheese and avocado sandwich on the menu. It was beyond delicious!
Zaharakos is also a museum. You can learn all about the history of soda fountains and mechanical music. We found out that someone from our hometown is known as the "Father of the Soda Fountain". Crazy!
