Graceland Cemetery

Graceland Cemetery is a Victorian era cemetery located in Chicago.  Many notable local people are buried here, and the tombs are ornately beautiful.

The reason I wandered through the gates was to see the Grim Reaper statue at the Graves family plot.  The statue, known as Eternal Silence, was sculpted by Lorado Taft in 1909.  According to folklore, viewers will be shown a vision of their own death after looking into the eyes of the Reaper.
